Any plans on porting it to PC… possibly Steam?

    • admin says:

Yes! We are absolutely planning on porting EvilQuest to PC sooner than later, and will be exploring mobile platforms after that. If you don’t own an XBOX then don’t worry. You will be able to play this game at some point in the near future!

  3. John says:

Has the game been released? I don’t see it on Xbox Live. Can’t wait to play.

    • chaosoftgames says:

Yes, but Microsoft has kind of jumbled up the Dashboard recently. The easiest way to find it is to go to the Bing Searchbox and type in “EvilQuest”.

  4. Dalton says:

Ive tried the trial on xbox live and I really like it so far. I noticed u start without armor, helm. Im wondering if there is more than 1 helmet sprite? Id like a Hood on Galvis 😀 haha. anyway just asking. thanks.

  5. Jake says:

the bosses are really challenging, considering i can’t beat the giant squid…

  6. Wyatt says:

What did what the update from yesterday do?

    • chaosoftgames says:

Some new in-game instructions were added to help with some things that new players were having trouble with. There were also some slight tweaks to trim a bit of length from the game intro and correct some typos.

  7. James says:

A little help needed please! I am struggling to defeat the giant squid any tips??

    • chaosoftgames says:

The Kraken is weak against the Lightning spell. Hitting it with that is the best way to take it down. Other than that, just avoid the ink as best you can and keep yourself fully healed for when he uses his wave attack.

      • James says:

        Thanks a lot mate

        • James says:

Would just like to say, I am thorougly enjoying this game, well done! Im curently entering the Astral Plain, so Im assuming Im approaching the end (shame. Was just wondering if Chaosoft have released any games like this or are aware of any similar ones for Xbox?

          • chaosoftgames says:

We have not released anything like EvilQuest before. But, our next game will have very similar gameplay to EvilQuest.

  8. jake says:

Hello, I am having trouble getting the ice seal… I dont really know what to do at that big crack in the middle of the way in the ice cave. Also, how do i get the sword in the sewer? Thanks

    • chaosoftgames says:

      @jake,

You have to Jump to get over the crack in the Ice Cave. There is also a gap in the sewer that you will have to jump over to get the sword. If you haven’t gotten that ability yet then you need to complete the pyramid level.

  9. Larry says:

    Hello,
I love EQ very much, Im just wondering is there any way to get the items in the boxes in shops?
they are all behind the counters and even with jump, and run i still can get over.
    Any ideas?

  10. Bob says:

Why is this more expensive on PC? Is there something extra included? Or just a price hike?

  11. Josh says:

Ok I recenlty completed Evil Quest. I killed Tsarel, and God. Great game. I wish there would be a sequel where you could control monsters to help you and maybe torture more people.

I’m having trouble finding the Fire Cloak…Anyone have any help for me?

    • chaosoftgames says:

Have you finished the Ice Cave? There is an item there you’ll need to open the way to find the Fire Cloak.

  13. Magnus says:

Hello i have problems killing the Dragon (That Fire god) Any tips?

    • chaosoftgames says:

Hi, thank you for checking out our game.

1 – Make sure you have the Fire Armor & Fire shield. They’re both located in the volcano.
2 – Use the Ice 2 spell when you can and hit him with a fully charged shot from the Ice Sword in between.
3 – Just try to stay out of his way and jump over the lava spots.

      Good Luck!

  14. Ayrik says:

I just wanted to say, thank you for this great game. Crystalis is my favorite NES game, and when I played this, it really took me back and I had a great experience. You have been ripped off by your extremely low price! Good luck in the sequel, it looks great and it couldn’t come any sooner.

    • chaosoftgames says:

Thank you for checking out the game. We appreciate the kind words and generous donation. I can promise you that we are hard at work on the sequel, and it’s going to be a major improvement over the fist game.

    • jack says:

this is a awesome game i love this game just can’t stop playing this game ever or ever or ever and i never go out my house

  15. Ethan says:

Whats with the ninja in the snow town? any content there?

    • chaosoftgames says:

Ethan, Not in EvilQuest. But there’s a great chance he may be showing up in a future game that we make.

  16. Tony says:

I wish there were more games where you can be the bad guy and the bad guy wins. Good job, enjoyed it. I look forward to the sequel. I hope it’s a bit more mature though in the overrall theme. I would like to see more involvement as being the bad guy, some blood wouldn’t hurt, oh and… those strippers… well ya, ya know. ;D

    • chaosoftgames says:

Tony, I think we’ve got you covered on the sequel. You’re going to be seeing a lot more than just “some” blood when you kill an enemy. We’re working on adding more evil deeds and making the dialog and story much richer in EvilQuest 2. Thanks for checking out the game!

  17. David says:

I loved the game! I can’t wait till the sequel and any other games you make in this style.

I had just bought the MW3 collection 4 and needed something to play and had gotten the trial for Evil Quest the day before. I played it and as soon as I finished it bought the game.

It was really addicting and can I say, Galvis looks like an evil-pimp-warrior from hell.

Anyway thanks for the game and I can’t wait till the sequel.

  18. Tyler says:

i am having trouble in the Astral Plane. any advice? i keep getting lost. also i am a big fan of your game and if at all possible would like to help you with the second one as a beta tester

  19. Devin says:

I just wanted to let you know, I bought this game today and it is probably one of the best games I have played in a long time. And for just a dollar! I will eagerly be looking forward to your future games. P.S. There are a few typos (“unstoppable” not “unstopable” for instance). No big deal but it might be something to fix with a patch or something.

  20. damian says:

just wanted to ask is there anyway i can get hold of a walkthrough guide on what order to do things as think i have missed lighting area lol as beaten king without breaking the lightning seal. plus it would be great to see an evil quest 2, i love the retro style games if you do it please release it on both pc and xbox 360.

  23. Gary says:

Does the xbox version have achievements?

    • chaosoftgames says:

Unfortunately for both game developers and players, Xbox Live Indie Games does not allow achievements in any of the games on the service, including EvilQuest. However, if the game manages to get approved on Steam, we will add achievements for the Steam release.

  24. vincent says:

wow just gotta say this is a very very great game i hope yall have a more games like this coming out on xbox live this reminds me so much of crystalis for the nes so much that it could be crystalis part 2. Great game keep up the good work i will be spreading the word about how grest this game is true gem worth more than a buck instant classic 🙂

  25. David Hudson says:

    Great, great, great game! Thanks

  26. L6rdbeck says:

EQ is the best indie game on xbox hands down. Playing an evil warrior and killing random innocents!! This is a MUST-BUY…

p.s – Misfits rule. Bloodfeast! lol.

  27. Andrew says:

    Hey Guys.

Just wanted to let you know. I just DL’ed my copy on 360. Been having a lot of fun. Very reminiscent of Dragon Warrior in NES Days. Nice feel. Would definitely encourage you all to keep going. Thanks for the enjoyment on my day off. Also note: Yer the first Indie Game I’ve even played. Looking forward to supporting more of the Indie Lines

  28. Dustin says:

Hey i’m stuck on the part where you have to get the fire sword from the sewer like i cant find a way to the sword i see it but i can’t get over there please email me or something

    • chaosoftgames says:

You may not have the necessary item needed to get to that area yet. If you haven’t been to the pyramid yet you might want to go there first. Just don’t forget about where you saw the Fire Sword.

  29. mindseternal says:

This is a fun game I really like it but I don’t know where to go now I defeated the King and I don’t know where the 4th seal is maybe I just missed it. Could you point me in the right direction?

    • chaosoftgames says:

To the north of the world map area outside Camelia Castle is an area where you should search for the lightning spear.

  30. Josh says:

I forgot to say that Misfits rock. Great avatar.

  31. Debbym says:

This is an incredibly fun game. Frankly, it was much more fun than many big name releases. It was short, but worth much more than I paid for it. So I had my husband donate more. 🙂 I was too busy playing.

It is charming, good-natured, and the mechanics are beautiful. I normally am not big on the “puzzle” type of boss, but these bosses are fun to fight, and the boss fights are not boringly long.

I look forward to the sequel.

  32. Josh says:

I don’t know if I said this before, but imagine Evil Quest an Xbox 360 game. It would be big someday, and people could relate back to these indie game classics that would eventually be full arcade games for 400 points with extra stories added to both and achievements.

  33. Wolf says:

I love this game.. So fun. Can’t stop playing it on Xbox. I was wondering though, I saw there were things like the halloween bundle for the PC version. Can you get that on the Xbox?

  34. Magneeto says:

I loved Crystalis on NES when I was a kid and this game has filled my craving for a retro style game. Sadly I just completed it on Xbox today and I love games like this when I get bored of Defiance. Hoping for a sequel.

  35. micheal says:

I hope the sequel will be on the 360,i just beat evilquest earliwr today

  36. John says:

There are chests behind the counter in item shops. Is it possible to get them?

At N.Camelia’s lower right corner, there’s a house with a locked door (the only one in the game). Is it possible to open it?

    • chaosoftgames says:

As in traditional retro RPGs, there is often unobtainable treasure in shops. We realize that many players think you should be able to steal these items from the shopkeeps, and we are addressing the possibility of this happening in EvilQuest 2. As for the house in N. Camelia, it is not possible to enter that location.

  37. Iance says:

    Heya,

I’m having lots of trouble finding Whole Chicken. I saw dragons drop them twice (after farming them for three hours).

I’ve been using magic amulet + shadow2 to slaughter everything instantly, but even then I just can’t seem to make them drop.

Does anyone know if there’s a better place or way to get Whole Chicken?

  38. Riley Wilcox says:

ok am i stupid or do you need some kind of special item or upgrade to jump tried remapping the keys but no dice i have the same problem with dash

  39. Kire667 says:

Really lost on where to go now. Journal helps slightly by telling me I need the Chaos Axe to slay God. But I haven’t a clue as where to go. Been searching for a wiki or guide on Google with no aid.

If I ever beat this on Steam, I look forward to streaming the sequel as well.

  40. Andrea says:

I Just bought this game on steam and it’s fantastic i love this retro-graphics and i hope you will port this on mobile devices it would be great!

    • Josh says:

If they do, I am buying it instantly, because I loved it so much on XBLIG’s. Mobile would be great, and the use of phone hardware keys, and bluetooth really upgrades the experience! Go for mobile! 🙂 If you do, please have an android port.

  41. Freddie says:

Where can I find the portrait of Galvis for the Rampant Narcissism achievement?

  42. Uriel says:

    Hi,

Thanks for the great game, it is fun to play and a great value for the money!

Just a small question though, I can’t seem to find the amulet of magic; anyone can help me by pointing at the right direction? I finished the game on normal but could not find it and almost done in hard but still no chance

    • chaosoftgames says:

We have Facebook pages for both Chaosoft Games and EvilQuest, and on one of these pages we released a screenshot that hints at the location of this item. Good luck!

  43. Dru says:

I got the game on steam as a gift and i was glued to my computer until i finished it.It is fantastic.Simple, beautiful in its retro style and the story is a masterpiece.I beg you for a sequel and i wish you guys all the best.Great work!

  44. Cait says:

    Crystalis!!! Crystalis EVERYWHERE… Plus improvements.

Love the system, don’t care for the plot. :'(

  45. darian says:

where is the lightning area? I have been walking around the battefield for hrs.
I must have just missed it.

    • chaosoftgames says:

The lightning area is actually north of the battlefield, in a completely separate area to the north of Camelia Castle.

  46. Amy says:

I just wanted to say I really liked your game. It was a delight to play and very refreshing to play the bad guy. Thanks for making this and I look forward to more releases, maybe even a sequel, from you. 🙂 Have a great day!

  47. Roga Foryn says:

I am playing on linux!!! with a virtual machine, works perfect

  48. Austin says:

How do I save my game on evil quest I got so far and then it started over

    • chaosoftgames says:

You can save from the player menu anywhere on overworld maps and in dungeons at save points denoted by a glowing “s” point on the ground. There is also an AutoSave feature in the Steam release that can be enabled through the menu.
